Adopt a Utah Senior

Adopt a Utah Senior was created in March of 2020 to help recognize and support our Utah High School Graduates as the pandemic hit. We watched as one by one, all of our senior celebrations were cancelled. Life was turned upside down for everyone, and the timing couldn’t have been worse for our graduates.

This group brought the community together and you all really delivered! YOU gave our graduates a reason to smile and have hope for the future.

Together, as a community and with the support of our non profit organization, The Zackery Tyler and Russell Doyle Foundation, inc., (DBA Just Live it Up) we can continue to recognize these graduates and look for more opportunities to help support our community.

The transition from childhood into adulthood is one of the most difficult and significant time periods that one will go through. Many students are uncertain of the future and how to create the life they want for themselves. And or some individuals, the stress and unknown can ultimately be too much to handle.

Through this program we can recognize our high school graduates and celebrate this major life achievement. Adopt a Utah Senior is run mostly through our Facebook group. Parents/Guardians will create a post of their high school graduate that includes some basic information of their student including hobbies and interests. Other members of the community are then able to comment on the post and ‘adopt’ the student by creating and delivering a custom graduation gift. Graduation gifts can be anything you would like to provide, but are typically gift baskets of some variety that include items of interest to the student, snacks, gift cards, etc.

We want to ensure that every high school graduate in Utah has the opportunity to create a fulfilling and joyful life. Feeling connected to your community and understanding that you are an important part of this world, is very crucial to living a positive, fulfilling life.
